High-Pressure Sigma Brewers – Doser Removal
Having had nearly 3 years’ experience with the very successful Primo Bean to Cup system, operating very reliably without a Doser unit, we have taken the decision to remove the Doser Unit from our own High-Pressure Brewer systems. We have now introduced an accurate timed grinding system that provides the opportunity to set individual drink strengths and to upsell ‘extra shots’ of coffee for individual customer tastes – an additional feature to increase sales revenue.
All High-Pressure Brewers in Sigma machines delivered as of 16.04.18 will be supplied as ‘Timed Grinding’ specification (no Doser unit fitted). An accompanying Instruction Sheet of the required set-up procedures to ensure consistent quality Coffee Drinks will also be supplied with the machine.
How to Upgrade Existing Machines
If you have an existing machine with a High-Pressure brewer, we do strongly recommend that you carry out a conversion (removal of the Doser Unit – a currently monitored input in the control system) which can reduce the risk of inadvertent ‘sold-out’ conditions, thereby reducing Service Calls.
You will need:
- Firmware upgrade (minimum VMC version V3.05.0013)
- Ingredient Chute and Grinder Outlet Insert – Part Number: 1058011
- Ingredient Chute Mounting Bracket – Part Number: 1037406
These Parts will be accompanied by a comprehensive Instruction Sheet to enable you to successfully convert.
Latest Primo Touch Firmware Introduces ‘XL’ Drink Function
Dual drink sizes have always been able to be programmed in any Primo machine but we have now introduced new Firmware for the Primo Touch with ‘XL’ (Extra Large) drink settings. These are found in the ‘Recipe Settings’ and named as ‘XL’ drinks that are available in the ‘Button Settings’ to introduce to the screen menu. When active, the cup icon on the screen now also shows the drink as large (XL). Use this ‘Go Large’ feature to upsell and increase your revenue.
How to Upgrade Existing Machines
The required Firmware Update to introduce this feature is available in the Downloads section of Westonet for you to copy and apply to Primo Touch machines.
Please note. We have been advised by Animo that, until further notice, only SD Cards should be used for reading/loading information in the Primo Touch machines. We will advise you accordingly when the USB facility is fully functional.
